Music Festival @ Echo Beach – May 2013
On May 25, 2013, CBC Music in partnership with Live Nation hosted top notch Canadian and international acts Of Monsters and Men, Sam Roberts, Kathleen Edwards, Corb Lund, Sloan and eight others for the inaugural CBC Music Festival at Toronto’s Echo Beach. 5000 fans enjoyed eight hours of live entertainment at two outdoor stages.
The CBC Music Festival pulled together resources from CBC radio, TV and digital. Integral to the production was the participation of Mobile Productions.
Multi-platform content created at the CBC Music Festival included a live video web stream, video capture for television and digital, and audio recording for radio broadcasts.
Broadcast properties for the CBC Music Festival across the services includes: CBC Radio One and Radio 2 including Canada Live and Saturday Night Blues, a one-hour TV special to be aired nationally on September 13 at 9pm, half-hour segments for on-going use on the upcoming TV series Back Stage Pass airing Fridays at midnight, and individual video clips available on an on-going basis through cbcmusic.ca and cbc.ca/video.
The CBC Music Festival also offered the rare opportunity for CBC music and talk departments to work together by presenting The Debaters as part of the day’s events.
The CBC Music festival was a rewarding example of executives, producer, technicians and on-air talent pooling the resources of our radio, television, digital, communications, including the Corporation’s Commercial Entity division, Mobile Productions.
"The Evolution mobile was a first class facility! Brilliant pictures, excellent value, and top notch technical support!"
